We strongly believe that your ability to operate safely and to succeed depends on quality training. As a driver for Florida Rock and Tank Lines, you will participate in a comprehensive training program. This begins with field training pertaining to the particular products you will be transporting. The field training is conducted by a certified Driver Trainer and is done in a "hands on" manner. You will learn the various procedures involving loading, unloading and equipment operation of the tank trailer during the two to four week supervised field training. Your Driver Trainer will also assess your skills as a Professional Driver during this time.

In addition to the field training, you will attend our three-day Driver Training School during your first 90 days of employment. This is a classroom style training session which is instructed by our Safety Department. During the three days, you will receive training in HM126f (hazardous materials), HM232 (security), defensive driving, hours-of-service, loading and unloading procedures, rollover prevention and other subjects as appropriate. Regardless of your experience in the trucking industry, you will find this class very informative and useful.

You will also receive ongoing training on various subjects during your terminal's safety meetings. They are held on a regular schedule to allow all drivers to attend.
Based on the feedback we receive from our drivers, we feel our training program is one of the best in the industry.
